Gents,

I have a desktop PC. What's the best way to take a screenshot of your games and mark them up?
I know this must have been covered somewhere?

Thanks,

Within game: FILE, then snapshot, then use some type of editor

Windows 10 has a built in Snip and Sketch tool. It is GREAT! Just search your PC for Snip and Sketch and you can take screenshots, edit them, mark them up, and save them as easy as pie. You can also crop them or select to just "snip" part of the desktop. For a free tool already on your PC it really is good.

I can vouch for the Win10 Snip tool. For years I have been using a free screen shot program I downloaded in the late 90's. I was using it for my update to the documentation. It is a TSR that is activated by the Print Screen button but it required me to save the screen shot then open it with a drawing program and copy and paste it to use.
My daughter suggested I try using the Snip tool, it automatically puts the screen shot on the clipboard letting you paste it directly or save it if you wish. This saved me a lot of time adding screen shots as I could have the game file I was using for the screen shots opened along with Open Office, take the screen shot then paste it. It was extremely useful for adding the new menus since I could just do one, add the text, do the next and didn't have a lot of saved jpg files.
About the only improvement I've found in Win 10.

ACWGC Colleagues:

YES, "Snip Tool" is an excellent way to capture and crop/size your map views.

To make a "sketch" like the attached...

1) Capture "snip"
2) Import to powerpoint
3) Size/crop snip within powerpoint
4) Add graphics and/or text to powerpoint "slide" as you would any other powerpoint
5) Once happy with your image, "select all" and "cut"
6) Immediately "paste" back onto slide as a photo
7) Fused image is now ready to be cut or copied into email, or any other MS Office document.

Because that link doesn't share an image, it's just:

Usually an image should have some kind of image extension like JPS, BMP, etc. or html.
