Gentlemen, please join us in a year-end toast celebrating the growth of our highly esteemed Club! We have been thrilled to see thirty-five (35!) officers walk through the doors of the Union Military Academy in 2020. This past year saw twenty-two new Lieutenants commissioned in blue, eleven former Union officers reinstated, and even two former rebels who jumped ship at the chance for better rations and cleaner uniforms. (To be sure, Gen. Kunz reports equally impressive numbers at VMI – both increases largely due to the unflagging efforts of our ad-hoc Recruiting Team led by Maj. Gen. Dortch.)

We also want to celebrate the good fortunes with our most recent arrivals this past month – 1LT Steve Weppner and 1LT Garret Fitzgerald, as well as the return of Maj. Gen. Alan Benjamin to the gallant ranks in blue.

Additionally, please join me in congratulating Maj. Gen. Sober in his recent promotion and new appointment as UMA Chief of Staff.
...Ah, there is General Sober now! Steve, I believe you said you were buying the first five rounds for everyone this evening, right…? :-)

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happ(ier) New Year! <SALUTE>

Lt. General Eichelberger <salute>

Great news all around and congratulations to Maj. General Sober (or not so sober as the occasion here might bring about)!

I return your best wishes for a happy holiday and the coming of the New Year.

Gentlemen, Sirs! <salute>

Here, here! I certainly concur and again wish to thank those of the ACWGC Recruiting team for their efforts to strengthen our gaming Club!

My congratulations to both Superintendent Scott Eichelberger and Chief of Staff Steve Sober on their fine job at the Union Military Academy and for their much deserved promotions!

Barkeep, please another round of Mint Julip and please add it to Major General Steve Sober's tab!

Wishing all the very Merriest of Christmas and the prospects of a bright New Year!

Respectfully,

Your Obedient Servant,

General Nick Kunz
Commandant, VMI

Gentlemen,

Your well wishes are most appreciated and I know you'll join me in a toast to those who have given us so much fun, and to those about to experience more! I do indeed take drinking as a sober responsibility and I never fail an opportunity to be more responsible.

We should also hoist to a New Year and continued success in increasing our numbers.

Bottoms up, my friends!

Gentlemen,

After an absence of many years from this fine club, I am proud to have returned and found the establishment still running, and in excellent hands. My appreciation, especially, to General Dortch and the others involved in the recruiting efforts. When I was hear before, we were riding a wave of recruits busting down the doors of both armies. Now that the war has dragged on as long as it has, the number of volunteers had dwindled to a trickle. Thanks to General Dortch, recruitments in both armies have picked up.

The next round is on me, in honor of General Dortch and his team!
