Don Adams, if I recall correctly, managed the submission forms prior to the DoR, which was his creation I believe.
I remember tracking the OBD's/points longhand, it wasn't fun. I agree with Mike, much more streamlined these days.

Were UMA and VMI established together in 1997 when the Club began or were they started as an afterthought later on when membership rose? Anyone remember or know? |

Not sure if it was started with the club in '97 but the UMA was called West Point when I joined in '99, don't recall when the name was changed. |

I recall hearing the name was changed to UMA. Not sure when either. Joe Meyer's old UMA site only has UMA class files going back to 2000. But it did exist before that then? Interesting. Much like the early days of any grand undertaking it appears our earliest files were "lost in a fire". |

Union training was first called WEST POINT, but there was a complaint and it was changed around 2004ish to UMA. It is STILL called West Point Training in the DOR. I don't know (remember) when training was formally established, but I do not remember going through formal training. |

2008 UMA was changed to. I thought it was more recent, but here's the thread on it: https://wargame.ch/board/acwgc/viewtopi ... 4&t=12187& Not sure about when the academies were setup, 1999 seems to be the records for VMI as well. I'll Rich H. if he knows in my next game exchange with him. |

Prior to the DoR club records were kept by the people handling admin, I believe it was done by keeping spreadsheets. I remember sending and getting emails to register and end games when I first joined. There was a big blow up in the club and a lot of records were lost. I had started my own webpage to track my promotions and games, back in those days many isp and email providers offered free websites. Eventually moved to my current provider when those phased out. According to my personal records 24 of my club games prior to 2001 are not included in the DoR. |

I remember the reporting requirements for games were more onerous when I joined. I forgot the name of the officer over reporting at the time or when it changed. Today it is a lot more streamlined. The same could be said for club resposibilities in general. |

Ernie, I thought Don Adams did some of the final DoR work at Tiller Con I, seemed to recall him working on his laptop there during gaming breaks and did a search on the forum and I was correct. Here is the announcement of the activation of the DoR at the forum. https://wargame.ch/board/acwgc/viewtopi ... t=dradams2 This con was actually my favorite of the three, the site was not fancy but all three clubs were running games with ACWGC, NWC and the PzC Clubs all represented. Also the performance by Thomas Hook was great. |

I think it was at Mechanicsburg for that one. |

Yep, Tiller Con I in Mechanicsville, just north east of Richmond. Event venue was a bit rough, but it served our purposes well and kept the cost down.
