I just emailed Scott, The earliest mention I find of VMI in my email archives is a note from a recent graduate back in August of 1999. He wrote Dave Moser and I about participating in our Department of Strategic Campaigns (DOSC). So, my best guess would be Spring of 1999 or earlier for a start up of VMI. I did not go through training and I joined in March of 1998, if memory serves... |

I think barring any other new information, Spring 1999 seems to be the earliest to date for VMI. |
