Just because I'm curious about these sorts of stats on occasion...

What's your "best" (points-wise, or even reputation-wise) Leader Loss that you've inflicted, either against the AI or against a human opponent?

Worst I've suffered was losing JEB Stuart in a Gettysburg scenario that had the Reb Cavalry on the field.
Best I've inflicted is (probably) capturing Buford in a Gettysburg fight against the AI.

Anybody ever managed to take out Lee, Grant, Sherman, Jackson, etc?

In my last scrap, I captured Buell. I think he was worth 35 VP.

I captured Jackson on 2 different occasions playing Campaign Shenandoah scenario's and wounded Jackson in an second Bullrun scenario.
I also lost Grant in a Campaign Vicksburg scenario.

Officers of all ranks run the risk of being a casualty in my army.
I recently lost General Longstreet (following a bad click and drag) to a 4XX cavalry unit behind my lines. That US cavalry unit was completely eliminated in retaliation. I also remember having Longstreet captured by a very small infantry unit that had routed behind my lines. That unit was also eliminated in retaliation.
Worse still, in the Shenandoah I lost General Jackson and Ewell in one turn. Ewell was replaced but not Jackson - I guess General Jackson is irreplaceable.

On the other hand I usually can not resist targeting certain Yankee officers in battles. I especially like to kill Sherman at 1st Manassas - I figure it will save the southern citizens a lot of grief late. The inveterate liar Alfred Pleasonton [claimed he ordered the shots that killed Jackson (http://civilwarcavalry.com/?p=4346)] is also a favourite target. Naturally, Sheridan is too for his heinous work in the Shenandoah. [I also like to shoot to pieces the 20th Maine whenever I see it appear on the battlefield.]

I am also fortunate to hold the (now defunct) Whitworth Sharpshooter Medal for causing the highest Yankee officer casualties during a quarter. However, my greatest joy is killing Sherman at 1st Manassas when he's only worth 8 VPs.
