With 4.01 (and maybe in previous versions?) the Objective Hex values are hidden from sight when you select Extreme Fog of War.

That's fine - I guess.

But what's weird is that it is only hidden from sight (marked as worth "0" points) from the defending side in the game (the side that goes second). The attacking side (that moves first) can see the objective point values.

I playtested a Gettysburg scenario and played both sides of a scenario in PBEM and that was my result. I started one game as the CSA player and a second game (just to double check) as the USA player. In both games only the CSA player (attacker) could see the objective flag's point values.

If someone has tested this elsewhere and arrived at alternative findings let me know. I only tested 4.01 Gettysburg.

Is this the way it was supposed to be designed or is this another oddity?

It has been an integral part of extreme fog of war since that option was introduced, in Petersburg, I believe.
