Early this morning, Herschel “Woody” Williams, the last surviving Medal of Honor recipient from WWII passed away, surrounded by family, at the West Virginia VA Hospital that bears his name. The Trust is honored to have known Woody and joins with all those who were touched by his extraordinary lifetime of work on behalf of veterans and Gold Star Families. In particular, we mourn with our partners at the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
Please take a moment today to remember and honor Woody by listening to his perspective while visiting Gettysburg. His legacy will live on through the work done by the Woody Williams Foundation.
