Gentlemen (of a US persuasion),

A very Happy Labor Day Weekend to all.

Some of us, in less enlightened places, are obliged to labor all year round and hence any country with the good sense to dedicate a three day weekend solely to labor is to be applauded :lol: :lol: :lol:

Ha, that's the 'luck of the Irish' for you. Our Labour Day is on 3rd October (it's one of fourteen Public Holidays for our State this year).
If only I was in Victoria then I would also get a Public Holiday for Melbourne Cup Day (a major horse race on the first Tuesday in November). However, I never really worked on that day anyway (usually at another racecourse or attending a boozy Melbourne Cup Day luncheon which usually went on into the night).

Ah Sir,

The luck of the Irish indeed, be grateful for small mercies, we don't get a Labour Day Holiday, we just labour !!! In addition, we only get 10 Public Holidays a year here so a boozy luncheon sound rather inviting.

I propose the 'luck of the Irish' though might yet come to the fore, in the not too distant future, Sir !

I can advise that for this year only another Public Holiday has been added to our tally of 14 to take it to 15.

Thursday, 22 September 2022 shall be a national day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II.
