This will form part of a later post, however I wanted to communicate this to my own group prior to posting here.
From a (very) recent internal AotP communication:
"Genl Rusty Hodgkiss, a long time member of ACWGC, and the Army of the Shenandoah, and lately the Army of the Potomac, has been awarded the Exemplary Service Medal – and while this was suggested by his divisional commander (Tim Wheeler), I also knew Rusty from my time in the Campaign Overland playtest (prior to its publishing). This was largely because he was offered the opportunity to create some scenarios for that project, by their design team. I was fortunate enough to test some of Rusty’s work, which was one of the what-if scenarios. You could tell a lot of thought was put into creating a plausible, and realistic situation (and don’t take for granted that everything you might run into is like that … and it was that part that made Rusty’s work so solid), but I also did a little testing of it with him, and I believe our side’s own Mark Nelms. To me encouraging, or even inspiring someone to have a go at designing scenarios like this is pretty important for growing the hobby, as well as promoting history studying."
