Gentlemen of the ACWGC,

One of my first acts as CoA is to introduce a new "Lifetime Achievement Medal" into the Confederate bureau of medals and records. This medal will only be available to win once per member and only upon the accumulation of 5,000 OBD points in the Department of Records. Of the 1,250 Confederates to have joined the ACWGC, only 4 have reached this plateau.

We will now honor those officers who have achieved this mark. In their wake are just three Confederate officers with 4,000+ points who hope to join this exclusive club over the coming years.

Gen. Cameron McOmish (VMI 2007) was the most recent Confederate to achieve this milestone in 2022. Cameron has served the Club diligently in every role imaginable. He is a Legion of Merit Award winner and a celebrated and lovable rascal in the Club. Cameron had a tavern named for him last year and continues to play an active role within the Army of Tennessee.

Lt. Gen. Tom Phillips (VMI 2006) was the third person to achieve this number. Tom is a prolific gamer and has completed over 1,000 registered games in the DoR. His longtime service to VMI and to the Confederacy make him a stalwart in the Club.

Gen. Nick Kunz (VMI 2005) was the second Confederate member to reach this number. Nick has been the rock of VMI for over a decade and has contributed much to the Confederacy over the years.

Gen. John Dragan (VMI 2003) was the first Confederate to achieve 5,000 points in the Club. John's longtime service to the Club, and extensive gaming record, remain well etched in our memory and in our record books.

It is an honor to serve with these gentlemen and an even greater honor to wear the gray alongside them!

Drinks all around on Cameron's tab!

Gentlemen,

I salute your outstanding achievement in being awarded such a prestigious medal. This medal is aptly named 'Legend' in honour of your magnificent record of battling the enemy.

That is a mighty fine medal and idea. I can't imagine the time and effort it takes to reach such numbers. Congratulations all!

Gentlemen it is an honor to receive such an award and also to be compared to the likes of General Kunz, General Dragan and General Phillips, all three of which I hold in high regard and think of as great friends <Salute>. And yes, my bar tab is at the disposal of all club members blue and grey.

Congrats! A fair amount of General Phillips points have been at my expense.
