With the strong possibility that the 1st Army of this Club is to be reorganized I think it only prudent that I as one of its longest serving members raise my concerns in this most public of forums. My concerns may sound petty to some, but in my view, they are what makes the rigors of campaigning just that bit more bearable. I am of course talking about allowances. Since the army was formed, we have been given a moustache allowance of 10 cents per month per inch (as measured on the longest side only). There also the spur sharpening allowance of 5 cents per month (regardless of pairs owned). And finally, the most important "The Generals Grog Allowance" which for a full General is a case of Tennessee's finest sour mash "Hornet's Sting". I do hope my concerns and those of my fellow officer are taken into favorable consideration.

Sir
If you are concerned about reorganization, We will gladly give you 20 cent mustache allowance, a 10-cent spur sharping allowance, plus an unlimited supply of the finest Tennessee whiskey. All you have to do is leave the dark side and return to the light. We will welcome you with open arms.

General McOmish <Salute>

Sir,

I would humbly suggest that as one of the longest serving members nothing that may be of concern to you might be considered 'petty'. Being the auspicious and outstanding General you are demands my closest attention and I shall therefore ensure your valid concerns are brought to the attention of the appropriate authority. The allowances referred to are indeed traditional and unique to our army, and that is as it should be, I propose. However, as they were introduced long before my current assignment, it falls outside my remit to modify them I regret. I shall nonetheless make the strongest recommendation that not alone are these 'allowances' continued but having regard to the spiraling cost of living, that they be increased accordingly. I specifically note the 'Generals Grog Allowance' of a full case as quoted and suggest it is entirely insufficient for any God Fearing Gentleman General of the Army of Tennessee.

Fear not Sir, I shall have the matter raised at the highest levels and I thank you for drawing this most important matter to my attention.

I suppose if you paid in actually currency instead of that fake souvenir facsimile stuff, you might have better effect - but that's just me.

And realising that this entire conflict is essentially the equivalent of a 5 year old siblings' debate on Constitutional interpretation ... 'can too' vs 'can not' ... context is everything. For your consideration.
