Hello, My name is Logan. I am a Cadet waiting to join the Union. I own WDS Antietam, Gettysburg, Peninsular, and Overland Campaigns. I also have the Matrix JT ACW series. I play Scourge of war and Take command as well. A little about me. I am a USMC Veteran. I started miniature wargaming as a kid and kept it up. I game in 28mm and I use Johnny Reb 3 rules. I also miniature wargame the Napoleonic wars using Napoleon's Battles by Avalon Hill. Most of my pc gaming has been against the AI so I am looking forward to seeing the Elephant against real opponents.

Cadet Logan,

Welcome to the ACWGC. Your decision to join was correct even if your choice of sides was not ! As a USMC Veteran great things will be expected from you doubtless. Notwithstanding your choice, we salute your service. I too started miniature gaming in my early 20's and played the original Johnny Reb Rules, brilliant rules & concepts but totally unplayable we found. I also played Napoleon's Battles way back in the day, although Empire III & IV were our rules of choice then. There were 2 major cliques, NB & Empire and ne'er the twain should meet . Having regard to the rules mentioned you are also doubtless therefore aware of Frank Chadwick's Command Decision WW2 Rules, again brilliant concept & massive detail, but a slog to play. He produced 2 brilliant campaign books for the series, Bastogne & Bathtub Barbarossa. I could go on forever but I'll spare you the pain !

Welcome Sir, to the ACWGC and the War. As a MC veteran it will simply be a matter of adapting your undoubted tactical expertise to the game system I warrant. Be assured, G2, of the AoT will be watching............closely and unrelentingly.

Welcome sir to the ACWGC! If you like action - tell General Blake Strickler you want to learn how to play in Multi-Player matches - he will fix you up! When you think you are ready, seek out a challenge from the "Gator Alley" Division, better bring some friends! Gook luck and best wishes going forward in your training!

Welcome sir, welcome. Just a bit of advice, watch some of these guys as they might take your lunch money during a sit-down and a smile. Some good conversation, with smokes and potables in my tent. Suggestion: keep your cool with Barycki!

We still play Johnny Reb 3 and Across a deadly field. I tried Fire and Fury but just could not get into the game. I have not played Frank Chadwicks's Command decision ww2 rules. I play Crossfire for ww2. I do own and play Chadwick's Volley and bayonet rules and they are fun at brigade level. I play a lot of Avalon hill board games and have got both my sons to play as well. My oldest son is a History teacher just starting out this year and my second oldest is in the Marine Corps right now. He is a CBRN Marine. So right now I am a solo wargamer again.

Thanks for all that info. I've heard of Across a Deadly Field altho never played it. I played some Crossfire way back and still use Volley & Bayonet/ Road to Glory and agreed, they are fun. I had a large collection of Avalon Hill, SPI & GDW games way way back, 200 odd games, and let them go eventually, and which I regret to this day ! I don't get much tabletop gaming done these days altho when I do it is exclusively solo now. Tbh, I do not mind playing solo at all, it's all in the mind & mindset and there are no arguments, throwing toys outta the playpen etc etc  Nothing a 6 or 10 sided die can't determine anyway. By the by, I play almost exclusively now in 6mm (and 15mm WW2), ECW, Naps, ACW, FPW & WW2 and for which I have large armies for large games. There is a UK company called 'Too Fat Lardies' who produce/d some amazing rules sets. Well worth taking a look, Pickett's Charge ACW, General d'Armee Naps & Blitzkrieg Commander WW2, easy play with some brilliant activation methods.

BTW, good luck in your Lieutenants Cup game, good fortune.

Gentlemen I just completed Logan's first battle with him, it was a draw but this cadet can fight and is very aggressive .
Thanks for the great battle sir.
