 Post subject: Help!

Gentlemen,

I am having a problem with my Overland game. I can play alright when I choose a scenario from the scenario interface but I can not use the the scenario Editor or the Campaign interface. When I open the Editor I get map error messages. The Campaign interface will not start after choosing a new start. I have re-installed the game several times after removing all vestiges of previous installs. I am fully updated. I have contacted Rich and we were not able to solve the problem even after he was kind enough to send me a new zip file. Are there any suggestions I do not have any problems with any other games.

Have you tried to download another full install?
If Rich can't resolve issue, it is a tough one.

Tom,

There was a previous problem with the campaign in Overland, I seem to remember something about a map problem in the Spotslvania campaign.
Deleting everything and a new install should have solved any problems.

Rich knows more than me but some things to look into.

Did Rich send you the 4.02 install ? Mine seems to work fine.

Check to make sure you do not have an open exe game file or pdf running in the background, this can prevent the install and update from completing properly.
If you don't know how to do this
Open Task Manager
Look thru Background Processes and look for cpd, cp_start, cwedit and Adobe Acrobat or whatever you use to open pdf files.
If there select and click End Task.
Don't touch anything in the Windows Processes.

Did you check the Logs folder for error files ?
If not look in the Logs folder, if there are any with a recent date zip and send to WDS Support.
If there are older ones delete them and try running the editor and campaign start again and see if any new ones are created.

Finally if you have a USB drive try a new install on it and see if that works ok, it's a long shot but it could be a problem in your main hard drive
