American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

Hello All!

I am a newly minted cadet fresh out of UMA raring to march into battle to save the Union.

I am a long time fan of miliary history and military board games from various wars. I have been avoiding the ACW however for the longest time because I knew I would fall deep once exposed to it. Following a leadership field ride with my current job to Gettysburg last year, I couldn't fight it any longer.

12 Books later, several more fields rides (Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, The Wilderness) and about six WDS purchases, I can fairly say, I'm in deep.

I'm a former Army CPT (1st Inf Division 1998-2005) and currently reside in Northern Virginia. I look forward to meeting other members of the club on and off the field of battle.

Being a fan of military history, board wargames and indeed tabletop miniature games is to be most highly recommended.

I noted your previous service in the 1st Inf Division......the Big Red One ? An impressive unit to have served with I suggest.

I regret you were obviously waylaid at the recruiting station or otherwise lured by the smooth talk of the Recruiting Sergeant, but you are signed up now so it shall be as it shall be.

Welcome to the club, gentlemen. The Armies each get a new member and that is great. Chris, touring the Eastern battlefields is something I have done so often as well. Richard, I love North Carolina. My youngest son and his family live in Raleigh and the best beaches on the East coast are there. May you both have long carrers with us.
