Gentlemen,

As promised a few months back, I have uploaded 25 NEW scenarios for WDS Gettysburg to the Club's Customized Scenarios Database. This link can be viewed here https://www.acwgc.net/customgames. All of these scenarios can easily be downloaded from the website. There is a help link on the download page if you need assistance adding the scenarios to your copy of the WDS Gettysburg game.

The new scenarios include an imported version of the Talonsoft/Matrix Battleground Gettysburg game, along with other older scenarios recreated for the WDS version. Also created were a few grand "what-if" scenarios. Not to be forgotten, the new scenarios also include the "minor" affairs of the battle - such as the early morning fight on the Chambersburg Pike, Barlow's Knoll, Longstreet's Attack, and an expanded version of Pickett's Charge.

As if that were not enough - there are also five different large scale Equal Force Battles you can choose from. Each of these features armies of exactly equal size, quality, and gun types, along with the same number of units, guns, and cavalrymen. In short, both sides are exactly equal. If you are looking for a way to fight an opponent on even ground, without it feeling or looking any different than a normal battle - then this is for you. The OOB construction would never lead you to believe it was anything other than a "normal" battle. I have to admit - it's kind of cool.

Lastly, I create my own take on the Battle of Gettysburg which is very different than either the Talonsoft/Matrix versions or the WDS version. For a full reading about those battles, and what changes I brought to the table, you can check out this paper on the various Gettysburg scenarios https://www.acwgc.net/gettysburgreviewed.

All of these were simply created for fun and as a way to (hopefully) get people playing more in 2024 with a title that is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. Does it feel like 20 years?!

All these scenarios are available to register in the Department of Records under the WDS Gettysburg title.

If you have any questions or comments you can always reach me at blake(at)acwgc[dot]net.
