In the campaign game, is there any way for one side to terminate the battle and accept a minor or major loss if the battle is going down the toilet? Maybe do this to preserve units/men for the next battle? I've played the Shenandoah Campaign and this situation occurred so we terminated the whole campaign and now I'm in the middle of an Ozark campaign and the same thing is happening. Not much fun for either side. Thanks.

You can go to "Modes" on the top toolbar and click on "Place PBEM Termination Bid." If your opponent accepts then the scenario ends and you move on to the next one.

It is permissible, in a Campaign game, to remove units from the edges of the map to "retreat." If you have your opponent over a barrel, you might wish to continue the battle until they have completely fled the field of battle so you can inflict as much damage as possible before the next battle in the campaign. Just food for thought. If the battle is "over" though and neither side has an advantage, and you just want to move on, then you should end it early and play the next one.
