Just sent you an email about this Richard. WDS does have a file called PDT Explained in their Manual folder within the game though. |

Things like Ammo Loss, Officer Casualties, Breastworks building that number refers to the chance of it happening based on 100%. So Fire Wound: 2% means a random number is generated between 1-100 and if it is 2 or less the officers is wounded. Some things like Breastworks building have an additional modifier in the calculation, I believe it is often based on men/100 but not sure how that is calculated. The terrain modifiers are Target Modifiers and used to modifiy your Fire and Melee casualty values. From the manual. Target Unit modifiers affect the casualty calculation. They are cumulative being added together then applied. Again, this can be seen in the Fire Report if On Map Results is not selected. Modifiers of -40-50+10 would result in a net modifier of -80 being displayed in the Fire Report and used in the calculations. Terrain Modifiers will never exceed -90%, so there will always be *some* chance of effect from ranged fire, regardless of the design of the map. Hex Terrain modifiers do not effect Melee, Hexside and height modifiers do. Hope this helps. |
