Gentlemen,

4.4.3: If only one eligible candidate has been nominated and seconded by the end of the nominating period, the Cabinet will declare that candidate the winner of the election.

Having received only one nomination for the role of president, the Cabinet does hereby declare that Jim Boling, USA, will be the next president of the ACWGC. He will be the eighth man to hold that role since the founding of our Club.

Jim Boling has served the Club as the Union General-in-Chief for the past four years and will transition to his new role as president soon. His old post as Union General-in-Chief will be filled by a Union vote in the near future.

Join me in both congratulating and thanking Jim Boling for continuing his service to the Club and for his new role as its president.

Please also take a moment to recognize Tom Marshall, CSA, for his excellent years of service to this Club as its outgoing president. Tom, with a young family and many real life responsibilities, opted to not seek a second term and to instead return to the fighting ranks as a brigadier in the Confederate Army of Tennessee.

More information will be forthcoming, perhaps from our new president, as to how the transition will work from one president to the other (scheduling that is). In the meantime, eat, drink, and be merry, all on the Cabinet's tab. We will leave it to the next president to figure out how to pay the bill :mrgreen:
