Recently reactivated, is there less chatter in the forums? Or I am just imagining it? |

Definitely quieter. I've often wondered how 250 or so amateur Civil War historians/gamers could be so quiet in the forums. Chances are if we were all in a Civil War Roundtable or something we would talk endlessly. Maybe the Club made an error long ago in promoting the main forum as a gaming forum with a little history as opposed to a history forum with a little gaming. I'd like to see more historical posts in the forums to chat about if for no other reason than to "kill time" between turns. |

The chatter has, I suggest, become considerably less over the time since I joined the Club, and that's not all that long ago. |

Half of the club are Rebs, and you are incapable of posting if you ain't sober and can't read and write. Pa taught 'em how to put that still together though. |

Gen Simms sir, Is that right sir? Well, that still may do me more good than any of your words. It has seemed a bit quiet recently. |

Are you willing to share some of that stuff? I think that it has been quiet for a long, long time and it goes thru stretches where it is even quieter. The first few years of the club, it was booming and a lot of it had to do with role playing, but some got their feelings hurt and the resulting fusses calmed everything down. Now there are only a handful of people that post consistently. But it is a vital communication source for the club, so I hope that everyone is reading it even if they aren't posting anything. It might be dangerous to role play anymore but it is a great source to resolve gaming problems, discuss tactics, and share history. I've learned a lot from posted questions about the games because there is considerable knowledge available among the members. |

Some like to game, others to roleplay, but whichever, it adds to the interaction within the Club where such interaction keeps us connected and provides, as you rightly noted, a worthwhile resource. <Salute> Sir |

Hello gentlemen, I know that in my case it's simply a matter of time. I've got 7 open games between here and the NWC and I prefer to do turns than post in the forums. |

Gen Simms sir, Well of course I am!! Even with a bluecoat devil! I am still fairly new here so I didn't know the history, I just assumed it has ebbs and flows, busier and quieter times. I do 'roleplay' here a bit, but I don't ever intend to hurt anyone feels of course. And don't worry with hurting mine, this Johnny has heard it all. But agreed, it is very important and I read much much more than I post. |

Same here brother, so that is why I may not post for days and days and then I find I have some time and post a lot of responses at once. |

I am somewhat aggrieved by the General Simms generalisation that officers of the fine Confederacy have trouble with the dark arts of reading and writing. I will have you know that I graduated summa cum laude from Mrs Miggins Bordello, Pie Shop and Child Care Facility of Vicksburg. Upon graduation I could count to 8 and a knew all 18 letters in the alphabet. Now if you want to throw glass houses at stones, go ahead but be warned I will reveal the biggest flaw in the Union Officer Corps - it is epic, I can see it crashing Union morals and a matter of days. Now I have some spurs to Polish. |

Gen McOmish, most schools teach their students to never BS a BSer, and that includes the one that I went to. For that reason, I offer you a bottle at the bar. I would offer you a jug but someone stole all of them out of the backroom last night and left a worn God Save The Queen key chain behind in their place. |

Ok I shall not reveal all about the Union as I am easily brought with a bottle or two of booze |
