Gentleman

Looking for a Gettysburg scenario that allows for a more Campaign feel, I have looked this one over
The VP hexes and exit hexes seem to handcuff some strategies. Any thoughts

Perhaps try Gettysburg 078, it also utilises the BIG Gettysburg map.
Alternatively, you could play the campaign (a series of linked battles) in Campaign Gettysburg (click on 'cp_start' in the Campaign Gettysburg folder).

You should also know that Campaign Gettysburg includes extensive designer notes (click on Help and select Campaign Notes when the game is open).

You'll want an opponent who is a good fast responder to play any big map scenario, the AI is completely hopeless on large maps (I'm unsure how the AI fares in the campaign from Campaign Gettysburg).

There is an interesting report on a discussion with Doug Strictler (the designer) on Campaign Gettysburg which can be found here (https://wargame.ch/board/acwgc/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21078&hilit=endless+sandman). Doug Strictler said when he designed it, "Total scenarios generated were 19,993". Holy cow! Sadly the link to them (Post #3 in that thread) does not work. I wish it did, there's sure to be some gold in that mountain of work.
If anyone knows where those (over 19,000) missing scenarios can be found I'd love to know.

I would send a note to the WDS help desk. RH might know. These were auto generated using a software program Doug created. Also, they may not work due to the program updates that might have invalidated their functionality.

Inside the Campaign folder of my Gettysburg are 3084 scenario files, since there is one with weather and one without that is 1542 scenarios for the Campaign.
Not sure how many scenarios were in the original game list as I have a ton of additional scenarios in my game I've collected over the years.

I seem to recall Doug Strickler saying something about a utility that took a scenario and created a couple options with different arrival times and locations.
For example there are 24 variations on 1. The Battle of Brandy Station, June 9, 1863, to access them outside the Campaign game.

If you open the game, close the Selection Dialog then click File/New you will get the Open Dialog
Go to to the Look In pull down menu, click on the arrow
then move to the Gettysburg main folder, then the Campaign folder
The scenarios can now be selected.

Thanks for those responses on the missing scenarios. As it appears that they are generally variations on a theme with "different arrival times and locations" there are probably few, if any, truly missing scenarios.
I appreciate learning how to open individual scenarios from the campaigns. I never knew that was possible.
