| Post subject: | question about disruption recovery |
Here's the situation: Attachment: disrupted question.jpg [ 36.08 KiB | Viewed 86 times ] It is the start of my turn and these two units are disrupted. There are led by D D Johnson from the red arrow. He is in command range of those two units. He currently has a buffed command rating of A Attachment: leader command rating.png [ 79.54 KiB | Viewed 86 times ] The rule is as follows: Attachment: disrupted recovery rule.jpg [ 31.92 KiB | Viewed 86 times ] I read this as the unit gets a 1 then a 6 is added to that for a 7. A die is rolled 1 to 6 and if it is equal to or less than 7 the units recover. They aren't recovered, so I must be missing something here. If someone would enlighten me I would really appreciate it. |

That's odd. If it's the start of a turn, and the units were disrupted from the previous turn, then given the Command rating of their leader they should have recovered from disruption. It may be worthwhile to send the file to WDS support and perhaps they can explain it. |

I did my own little test... the process I used is too lengthy to explain... But... I meleed against nine "A" units with perfect command ratings from the BC to the AC right behind them. So no matter what they would have 6+1 chance of undisrupting during their turn. The pop-up message, after all the meleeing, was that my units had 9 of 9 recover from Disruption. As expected. But only 2 of the 9 actually recovered. I then did nothing and rotated a full turn (to do another command test) and got the message that 7 of 7 were undisrupted. At that point all nine units were undisrupted. But it's odd because the last message said, of course, that all units were undisrupted. Can I explain it? YES There were 0 of 7 units ROUTED during the melee phase. When a unit undergoes a ROUT check it cannot both, resist rout AND recover from Disruption in the same turn. So, really, the pop-up box is incorrect (or maybe just confused). The game checked all nine units for a roll of the die recovery from disruption and all passed (9 for 9). But then it checked for routs and 0 of 7 units routed. The units which did NOT undergo a rout check were undisrupted. Those units which did undergo a rout were still Disrupted. Is it confusing? Yeah. Is it possible it's something nobody has noticed for a very long time? Very possible, lol. It may also be just an error which effects "A" units (or units with a numerical rating above 6 for the recovery from disruption check). Is it worth emailing WDS? Up to you. It doesn't effect anything and is likely just a "reporting" issue with the Command Dialog Box which needs to be updated. |

Blake, Wow. Just wow!! So impressive that you were able to dig this out. However, I am not sure I can agree that it doesn't affect anything. I mean the way I read the rules those soldiers should be undisrupted. Anyways I think I'll send it over to WDS and see what they say. Still.......very impressive response sir! |
