All,

I am of the opinion that Avalon Hill was kind of the Forefather or founder of our war gaming hobby. I was a teenager when I received my first copy of "The General" back in the 70's. If you are interested (and some of you probably already knew this) here is every copy in PDF:

A link that some times works lol!

I also have a 3GB zip file of every single issue that I'm happy to share or post if anyone is interested. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Vol 13/3, my first post for pbm opponent.
How I met my friend Dave, who lived about 30 minutes from me.
We've been playing wargames, board, miniature and pc for 49 years now.

WOW! Do these ever bring back great memories. Thank you for posting these. I spent many hours pouring over these and playing the games.

Great stuff! Avalon Hill once proclaimed that I was probably the youngest player to ever play one of their games: Tactics II when I was 8 years old. Don't know if this was true, and I had forgotten all about this. I have forgotten many things, more, I am afraid, than I remember.

A great website to be sure. The General turned me into a Third Reich Junkie for awhile
