Greetings

I'm Andy Moss and I'm a new member to the ACWGC! Not that I'm new to Tiller games, I've been playing them since 1997 with the old Battleground games. I usually lurk out at the NWC and Blitz, but recently diversified to the ACW games.

Retired geologist/archaeologist. A bit like CSI on a longer timescale. When not playing games a lot of time is taken up with two labradors, one being a retired Guide Dog.

Not been to the USA but visited various UK battlefields, frequently built over. And a bit of excavation work there. And recently Thermopylae.

I have a tiny collection of German medals and badges which my father swopped as a kid with German POW's locally. He also had an unexploded incendiary bomb he swopped his bike for, but that was confiscated after a good hiding. I do have a box of shrapnel he collected though. And a nineteenth century sword found in a skip. And a 9000 year old hazel nut, chewed by a squirrel, from my excavations. For some time I also had Lindow Man's cranial washings out. House is full of such stuff, books and a lot of dog towels and harnesses.

Hope to meet various folks on the virtual battlefield in due course.

Cadet Andy Moss! <salute>

Welcome to the ACWGC, a great place to meet like-minded folks who have an interest in the American Civil War and enjoy gaming it!

It's always a pleasure to meet new members and share some gaming information!

Nice to have another Reb join us for our battle against those Northern invaders!

Welcome sir, welcome. Maybe a nice dig on the Little Round Top, looking for some Rebel bones, in your spare time.

Welcome to the club son, good to see the youngins stepping up to serve the great cause that is the Confederacy. If you are not keen on the fancy uniforms and endless parades in Richmond then come out west to the Army of Tennessee where we live by the three guiding principles - giving the Yankees a damn good thrashing, out of control drinking and chasing a fine ankle.

Obviously, you did not read the club rules. When you join the CSA, your age automatically becomes Your Current Age - 40 years = 27 years old. However, if you join the Union the calculation is Your Current Age +40 years. So, some of our Union members are very infirmed, being over 100 years old - poor sods.

Welcome Cadet Moss to the ACWGC!!

Here's hoping that you enjoy many years of gaming with us. I'm currently training your old nemesis for the Union side. You'd better bring your A game when you meet him on US soil as he seems to have a solid grasp of the game system. Good luck in the club!

Welcome, Mr Moss.

As one of us, you've played Battlegrounds.

What a wonderful profession you had!

Have fun, sir!.

Regards,

Welcome, sir.

I think you will thoroughly enjoy this club. Great members. all styles of play. If you're looking for a meticulously historical type of play - there is someone with a similar bent waiting to take you on. If you want to see What if History was different, you'll have plenty of scenarios and willing opponents.

Good luck, sir.

But if I might, I'd like to invite to join a 2x2 Chickamauga MP (multi player) game. Just in the opening stages. My teammate has had to drop out. If you'd like to step in, please email me at nbf@aol.com.

But in any event, best of luck.

Trajan....

Sorry I don't own that game as yet. If you are desperate I could buy it.

Thank you, sir, But I would not want you to make a purchase on my account. You should acquire the games in order they interest you. I'm sure I'll see you around.
