American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC)

While I was in a local hardware store they had some timelife books on the civil war, as I was looking through one I came upon the section on field surgey, and on one page it had a tin type picture of a young Reb LT. and with it a knife. In the caption underneath it. It stated that the LT. was wounded at the battle of Gettysburg, his leg was nearly taken off by a cannon shot. While he was on the ground he used his belt as a tournacit and finished amputating his leg. But he died five hours later from the lose of blood and or shock I guess.
