Post subject:  CSA Western Theater Command

Gentlemen,

After years of dedicated and faithful service in the upper echelons of Confederate command, General Ian Rousell has requested a sabbatical to brigade command.

General Rousell's distinguished service record has included posts as Commander of the Army of Alabama, Commandant of the Vicksburg Military Institute, and, most recently, Commander of the Western Theater, CSA.

As Rousell's instructor when he was a cadet at VMI, I've always looked on proudly as he ascended the ranks and took on tough leadership roles. I wish I could say I taught him everything he knew, but the truth is I simply pointed him in the direction and got out of his way.

Except for his stint at VMI, General Rousell's entire career has been with the Army of Alabama. For several reasons, I have asked if he would mind being assigned to the Army of Georgia for a while. He has graciously agreed. (Since those states share a common border, maybe he won't feel too far from home [:)] !)

To the vacant CSA Western Theater command, I am assigning Major General Chris Cross, effective from July 1 of this year.

Now that the formalities are out of the way, drinks are on me.

Your humble servant,
LGen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Welcome to the AoG, Ian!

I have said it before: Ian Rousell is the finest damn fighter we have in this Army. I will most certainly drink to his distinguished service and affectionately welcome him to the AoG. Make mine a Guinness in honor of the Englishman turned Southerner. [:D]

The AoG's gain is the AoA's loss. But a well deserved break for the good General. Congratulations. Be sure to visit your old Alabamey stomping grounds from time to time for a cold one. Just give us some fair warning so we'll have time to go track down a Yankee wagon so we can get the good stuff!

Gen D.W Mallory Sir

Gentlemen.

Thank you all for your kind words.
I feel happy that I can stand down knowing that I am leaving the Western Theatre in such good hands.

I will be putting my feet up for a while but not disappearing.

Although tired and drained my passion for this club and all the fun it contains has not been dampened, as long as the B/Ground games are played, I will not be to far away.

I SALUTE you all.

Long live the Confederacy.
