Bill, you got it mostly right.

However, we'd refer to Pierre as the HMFIC. General Nelms, too, at least on my side of the war.

(For those of you acronym challenged folks, that would be Head Mother FINDER in Charge...)[:0] Get yer mind out of the gutter, sailors.

As for the Navy lingo, it seems there are plenty of Targets, Insects, and Bubbleheads in the club. (We all know the cool ones are us Bubbleheads - Gene Nix, Dave Bowman just to name two...)

Aloha from beautiful Pearl Harbor, Hawaii![8D]

Gentlemen,

But we haven't gone far enough to match the Naval bureacracy.
Any squid knows that we'll have to split everything in the club
(but the top) in half, so that it will have its Atlantic and Pacific
components. Therefore, I forward the motion to double all positions
in the club and append either "PAC" or "LANT" to their titles. Then
we'll have it about right!

Hey,

I just got racked out after some really bad MIDRATS and a long rubbersucker in nukeland to read this CHARLIE FOXTROT about the way our CHARLIE OSCAR MIKE MIKE SIERRAs are FUBAR'd.

If I had the time I could relate how in the world of Fire Control, everything is referred to by acromynms including our space (MCC) and the computers (DCC's) and the rest of the associated equipment, DCL's, DSL (looong before the current incarnaiton), my favorite the SMCL, which aboard USS Michigan - which used to be a real ship before they weenied her out - was haunted (true story) and even a few about the MF's who think that they run things.

Geez... too many bad flashbacks....

Hey Bill,
You forgot:
CBPAC
CBLANT
Geedunk
C-Rats
MRE's
Mike Boats
Victor Charlie - VC
NCF - Naval Construction Force (Seabees)
And Jeff is kinda of right the bubbleheads are the premadonna's of the Navy. But then my dad was a tincan sailor, was a torpedomensmate.
Me I was the blacksheep I join the better unit of the Navy Seabees, spent 21 years and only spent 6 days on a ship and that was to ride the supply ship back from McMurdo Station Antarctica to Christchurch NZ.When we use to deploy oversea with the battalion we were flown by the Air Force in C-141. Talk about Club Med the Air Force had it made when it came to barracks, chow halls and rec faclities
