Cela 720 AM Most of the 76th New York was in good spirits. They had "seen the elephant" and knew what was what. Because of this, being at the head of the Division was fine, The road was good but later in the day and furthur back it would be dusty as all heck . Trusting in General Reynolds they figured not to be ambushed. They could hear the firing better, carbines and muskets and then the deep retort of cannon.
