Guys,
Since I have all of this extra web space, I've come up with another idea I couldn't do before due to lack of that space. I've always wanted to see an online index of Civil War magazines that would be searchable. If I want to read about Seven Pines in my back issues, I could search that site and find out which articles deal with the battle. That site didn't exist...until now. I've created the American Civil War Magazine and Journal Index site at:

For an idea of what I'm trying to do, see this finished page for Columbiad, Volume 4, Number 1:
http://brettschulte.net/ACWMagazines/columbiadVol4No1.html
I plan to include a link back to each magazine's web site on the page of every issue page I create. See the North & South area for examples of these links. I think if the site gets big enough it might even help bring in some new subscribers for these magazines. If anyone is interested, I'd also welcome any volunteers who could transcribe the table of contents page from each issue, especially if you own magazines that I don't, such as Gettysburg, Civil War History, etc.
Specifically, if anyone has back issues of Civil War magazines and and has the time, they can basically copy the table of contents page of a given issue and put it into a text file or a Microsoft Word document or simply in an email to me. I'll take that information, place it on the proper page, and give credit to anyone who transcribes the table of contents for whichever issues they do. In an effort to avoid duplication, volunteers can feel free to email me (the email address is HERE) and let me know what volume of a certain magazine they wish to work on. I especially need volunteers for back issues of Gettysburg Magazine. I don't own any back issues and have no easy way to gain access to them.
I envision the initial stage of this project lasting several years, depending on how many volunteers come forward. I have some time to dedicate to transcribing, but if I end up doing it all myself it will take a LONG time!
