COL Lajoie,

Despatches from the Pennisula report that while brave and persistent rebel units forced Porter and V Corps back from Beaver Dam, the valient Federal regiments nmaintained their disipline and withdrew under cover of devastating artillery fire. A final stand in the woods before Gaines Mill broke the reb will to press the fight home.

A well played game by my valient and honorable opponent.

Union MAJ VIC at CP 02d Beaver Dam to Gaines Mill. 49 of 81 turns
