I prefer the larger battles and will play a campaign. Options must be everything on except for MDF, EFOW, and Arty Capture, and no house rules other than the battlefield conduct codes contained in section 5.1 of the club rules. I will play either side (as the Union or Confederate commander). Battle or maneuver makes no difference so will accept offers from Union or Confederate commanders. I would prefer exchanging a turn at least every other day and I usually am good for at least once per day with occasional exception. I own all games except for the last one (Forbidden Campaigns). Examples of games that would interest me are:

a - Crossing the James scenario 604 in Overland
b - Antietam full battle
(the Chickamauga full battle has been taken)
(the Atlanta campaign has been taken)
e - Second Bull Run/Manassas

Ned:

I am up for Campaign Chickamauga if it has not already been taken.

I much prefer the Crossing the James scenario. It is a very fun scenario if you like large battles with numerous strategic options, a large number of troops (the ANV still has Early's corps available for this one), and nail biting situations. It is, in my opinion, more difficult for the Rebs to win and accordingly, I am willing to accept command of either side.

If you haven't found an opponent, I would love to play. I can go at least one turn per day, although when things heat up and you have to move or fight tactically with every unit that might go down to 5-7 per week.

My only restriction is right now all I own are Gettysburg and Corinth. The Gettysburg campaign is a lot of fun. lmk, cheers!

We aren't supposed to play you until you graduate from VMI (excuse me, I'm color blind, and this should have read UMA), so let me know when that occurs. It would be best to choose a battle instead of a campaign for the first match.

General Simms <salute> Sir,

I read your message the other day about a larger battle and had to restrain myself from signing up for it. I too love large battles, large maps, lots of maneuver and your Optional & House Rules preference is absolutely in line with my thinking. Your proposed 'Crossing the James scenario 604 in Overland' sounds magnificent. I regret however that as I am currently involved in some rather large games I forced myself to not reply, on this occasion anyway. I try not to swamp myself with games and try and keep them at a manageable level for my admittedly feeble head and brain power.

May I suggest that in the New Year perhaps, given our shared thoughts and outlook of the type of games we both enjoy, we consider the possibility of doing Something Big, if you are free and available.

In conclusion Sir, in respect of Cadet Jacob, I warrant if you are waiting for him to graduate from the VMI, you will have a rather long wait I suggest  Forgive me Sir, I couldn't resist !

Yours respectfully,

Gen McEntegart, give me a holler whenever you get ready to play. I'll play if at all possible.

General Simms <salute>

Thank you Sir, appreciated.

You do me too much honour though Sir, I'm a lowly Lt. Col. I fear

Gen Simms,

I would be happy to meet you on the field of Chickamauga, if that is still open. I can do one turn a day on average. Send a courier, if you are so inclined, to nbf@aol.com.
