I've always enjoyed a good novel, especially one related to the Civil War. Unfortunately, the bar was set pretty high for me, as my first exposure to Civil War fiction was Michael Sharra's The Killer Angels. Since then, (high school) I've read Mr. Foote's Shiloh and tried on different occasions to read Jeff Sharra, but they just seem to lack the "personalization" that Michael Sharra gives a good story. I've even went so far as to read Gingrich and Forstchen's alternative history. We could debate the content but I do admire the writing style. Any suggestions on novels that you recommend?
