Ronald White in 2016 and Ronald Chernow in 2017 each wrote excellent biographies of Grant. Both are worth the read! |

I read Ron Chernow's book "Grant" when it was released, thought it was a well done biography. Wasn't aware of White's biography, "American Ulysses" will look in to it. Also haven't read Charles C. Calhoun’s 2017 "The Presidency of Ulysses S. Grant". Chernow goes into his presidency a bit in his book noting Grant's biggest problem being he was a decent man who was a bit too trusting with his associates but the reviews indicate Calhoun's book is an in depth look at his presidency. |
