I just finished "The Weather Gods Curse the Gettysburg Campaign" by Jon Neese & Jeffrey Harding and highly recommend it. Very well researched by the authors, a historian and a meteorologist, it uses historic data and firsthand accounts to show how record-breaking heat & humidity wore down the armies during the Gettysburg Campaign. |
