I picked this up for Kindle during a recent sale at Amazon. You're not going to find detailed battle descriptions in this book but you will find a riveting description of what life was like for a German soldier on the Eastern Front during WWII. The book is actual the first three volumes of the journals of Hans Roth, who was a panzerjager with the 299th Infantry division. The hardships he endured and the descriptions are harrowing. These were published by the grandson of Hans Roth after discovering these three volumes. There was no 4th volume as Hans Roth disappeared during the Soviet summer offensive of 1944. I'd highly recommend giving this a read.
