ian, before the Second World War. (the title would not fit)

Written by a family friend. I just had the opportunity to finish it. I know it is a small title, but wonder that Amazon would charge so much. http://www.amazon.com/Food-War-Agricult ... 0198208715 . Oxford. http://www.us.oup.com/us/catalog/genera ... 0198208716

He wrote a number of WWII books. http://www.bookfinder.com/author/alan-f-wilt/

Maybe I am just cheap....well I am. I strongly sususpect one can find one for less. Got the book quite a while ago, I guess tommorrow I will take it out of the truck.

Anyway, very good look at stuff which isn't the commonplace to look at. Lots of information broken down into digestable segments. Interesting to see the discussion of not just the preperation of the government, but the interactions of Unions and other groups. What I found to be the biggest surprise was the level of preperation the island nation took with regard to food policy prior to the wars start. Professor Wilt did not go into the ramifications, but what I found interesting was that given the level of preperations made prior to the start of the war (and deemed necessary for the island nation), it seemed in conflict to what simple relations and fooling we tend to want to give Chamberlian and the British general war preperations.
