With the current crisis it may be an idea to post your top 3 war movies, others can to take a look at them and catch up in case they missed any of your top 3.

So, my top 3 war movies are:
1. The Longest Day (1962)
2. Battle of Britain (1969)
3. Das Boot (1981)(I suggest to try the mini series of that movie from 1985, NOT the new mini series)

There are many many more I could list but I think these are those that I could regularly watch.

An Aussie friend of mine asked me for my opinion of The Odd Angry Shot. Being a Vietnam veteran I hadn't watched any fiction about the war but I'd made some Aussie friends there and thought I'd have a look. It's still the only Vietnam war movie I've seen all the way through and it would be in my top dozen. Das Boot would be there, Cross of Iron, Gettysburg. So many others. Dark Blue World, The Longest Day,

It's impossible for me to name the top three.

Just picking just three is hard. I would also have to add
Zulu and Gettysburg to my list.

Tora! Tora! Tora! or A Bridge Too Far!

Some esoteric choices, A King's Choice and Downfall. There are some decent Russian movies on their war as well. They're very proud of what they did.
