SoW suffers from a strangely implemented AI which can counter player orders. This wouldn't be so bad if there were some obvious logic to what it does but sometimes it looks almost random. Their newest game on Waterloo apparently has AI problems so bad that it is unplayable. The AI just takes over and starts randomly marching your troops around the battlefield.
The Gettysburg version isn't that bad but it really irritates me that you can't advance a line of battle more than a few hundred feet without the regiments going into column. Making an attack like Pickett's charge would require you to pause the game every few minutes so you could visit every regiment and order it forward another 100 feet to keep them in line formation.
