Hey Rich!

I am on turn 5 of 098 Heaton's Crossroads and still the remaining 3 Rebel supply wagons are fixed, I would have thought that once the Union player got within 5 hexes they would have been released? This really holds the Rebel in place trying to save those wagons and not to be able to move them! :(

I have a maneuver going with a fellow Reb at Kernstown with weather and it is all I can do to hold my position as the Union player. Not the beat down that Jackson took from Shields, but still a very entertaining battle! Thanks for all the hard work on a very important part of the ACW history!

The 5 hex rule is LOS, not as the crow flies. See if that helps

Gents,

Yup the Alternate Fixed unit release is on and yes there is no line of sight with any Yank units for the existing wagons!

Thanks for the replies Gents!

Well I just guess that goes to prove that you can still teach old guys new tricks, or is that you can learn something new everyday or is it you never know it all!

I tried to register a Shenandoah scenario but found it isn't in the queue yet. No rush, but please post when it is ready.

Hi, Ernie,

It was the standard 3rd Winchester scenario, but I can always fill in the info whenever the Shenandoah scenarios get posted.

A belated Happy 244th Birthday, by the way.

Semper Fi!

Anyone else notice the map scrolling function freezes when you select a battery to fire under the Artillery Dialog in Campaign Shenandoah?

I've written to JTS Support but have not heard back yet...

If you are having scrolling issues with the Artillery Dialog open, try switching to one of the other Scrolling options:

Settings > Scroll Bar
Settings > Window Edge
Settings > Screen Edge

You should be able to do the switch even with the Artillery Dialog open.

In Campaign Shenandoah, with the Artillery Dialog open, I was able to replicate the scroll lock issue. By switching to one of the other scrolling options, I was able to reawaken scrolling.

Another thing you can try: Zoom in or out (also even with the Artillery Dialog open). By zooming out, you can see more of the map that way, hence see more potential targets.

This is all exceedingly difficult to get right. Before, the options were Scroll Bar & Screen Edge only. The Window Edge option was added to accommodate people with dual monitor setups who run the game in a window, rather than full screen. (Also people with expansive 4K monitors.)

Please try one of the suggested alternatives. These issues have been worked on time and time again. If the issues persist, and if enough people are unhappy, our only recourse may be to remove the new Window Edge option from the game entirely (put things back as they were before).

Can someone tell what this is for:
Campaign Shenandoah Hi-res 3D maps - 2.0 GB - 23 Oct 2019
Found on http://www.johntillersoftware.com/Updates.html
I though all the installers are complete and do not need additional downloads of the 3D maps.

Hi Berto!
Thanks for chiming in with some suggestions.

The scroll bar option does work, but its clunky to use.
Unfortunately, neither Window Edge nor Scroll Edge work with the Artillery Dialog open, even after I've used the scroll bar option successfully.
Nor does changing magnification in or out unfreeze the scrolling to allow it to work again.

Any more ideas? Rich has responded at JTS Support and is looking at the problem, too..
I hope I don't have to keep resorting to the scroll bar option all the time -- it's like going from an iPhone 11 back to a 5 :-)

I have all the other JTS Civil War Campaigns on my computer.
Shenandoah is the only one exhibiting this glitch.

Scott

Strange, because Screen Edge scrolling (and Scroll Bar scrolling) works fine for me.

You mean to say that with the Artillery Dialog open, you can't zoom in or out? That's also strange, because it works here for me. Did you try using the mouse wheel to zoom in or out?

You only see these glitches in Campaign Shenandoah, because the revised scrolling implementation post-dates the previous CWB updates.
