It's not a Optional Rule I like but it isnt a big deal.

"...if you trust them that completely then why even use a password?"

I use them only to prevent accidentally opening a move when it's my opponents turn. I always use the same file name for every move and if I mis-save my opponents move to me and thus accidentally open up the old file I sent to him, then I see all his men.
