Fun Debate #1:
When you kill a leader you gain more points than if you wound them. Does this make sense?

Ignore all the realities of the Civil War and just look at it from a gaming standpoint. If you kill or wound a leader they are permanently removed from the game (standalone game). They do not return at all. I am equally happy to kill an enemy general as I am to wound them because they are removed from the field. I don't care if they recover next month because this game ends in X number of turns. Why should I get fewer points for wounding a general just because in a parallel universe they can return to the field in the future? And who is to say the wound isn't a mortal one in this parallel universe that exists after the turns and the game end?

An argument can be made that kill vs. wound should be inconsequential and a leader just be listed as a casualty. Then you get X number of points (unless they are captured in which you get double).

Fun Debate #2:
With every "friendly fire" you conduct (meaning you fire offensively from a hex which is also occupied by a leader), there should be a 0.05% chance the leader becomes a casualty from friendly fire. Might sound silly but Stonewall Jackson wouldn't think so. It might also painfully remind people to keep the generals BEHIND their lines and not in their lines during the game.

Perhaps there is some difference between wounding and killing when playing the campaigns in the games. Wounded, they can come back: killed, forever gone. I don't know if that's how it works but I'd like to know.
I always try and get Sherman in the First Bull Run scenario. It does make much difference point-wise but I'm always a little disappointed if he only gets wounded instead of killed.

Friendly Fire
I think that there is the same chance of a leader being wounded/killed from friendly fire as from enemy fire. If not, it should be so. Unless they are in pristine condition, units subjected to friendly fire often disrupt/rout as casualties can be heavy [at least so for me because when it happens they are usually shot in the back at point-blank range].

I propose any brigade commander who is behind the lines while his units face the enemy should cost his command a one level drop in morale

I always keep my brigade commanders behind my lines. They can exert a command radius without being in the firing line. I would be so mad if my commander got hit by friendly fire but in war chaos is abundant. I am sure we've all read accounts of friendly fire killing men in every battle of every war.
