Gentlemen, Does anyone have any experience, thoughts or comments about the new AGEOD's Pride of Nations? It has 2 DLC's for the American Civil War and the Spanish American War and wondered if it might be sanctioned for the club for the ACW DLC. I was going to download the demo (which of course is only the basic game demo) when I had the time. It seems to be in the same vein as Victoria II which I purchased from the Steam network, Pride of Nations and the DLC's are also offered for purchase there. Vicotria II you have to deal with with population management, economics and industry, spending and budgeting, government, elections and policies, goods, markets and trade, technology and research, event and decision trees, diplomacy, building units, land and naval combat, and from the product description they seem similar, turn based deep strategy games but not much in terms of tactical combat. Forge of Freedom gives you the strategic aspect, but you also have the option for tactical battles. I have only played the demo for AGEOD, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the limited time I spent with it, you maneuver and assign units and commanders to armies, corps, divisions but the battles are auto-resolved and I miss the tactical aspect of fighting battles.
