Greetings,
I'm one of many who have returned to the club after retiring from full time employment. Played from '02-'08 and then again briefly in '15. I'm a bit disappointed that my old discs are unsupported in the club, but am ready to shell out for some games. Asking what you guys recommend. I assume most have Gettysburg and I'll probably go for Antietam and Chickamauga. I like the Gettysburg and Corinth campaigns as you can end up on different maps to battle. Are there any other of the ACW titles with the option of ending up on different fields than what happened historically? Also considering a couple Napoleonic titles and getting into that club as well. Any recommendations--with the reason why you recommend them--will be greatly appreciated. Plan on getting 7 titles to get the discount.

Thanks in advance and hope to see you on the battlefield someday.

Welcome back, sir!

The "Big Four" in the Club are definitely Gettysburg, Antietam, Chickamauga, and Shiloh. Beyond those, it all boils down to personal preference.

Mike,

Congratulations on your retirement Sir and you are indeed most welcome back. The WDS discount is undoubtedly the way to go and the Christmas sale will be coming along shortly too.

Good luck and good fortune Sir.

Mike,

Welcome back. I remember you from when I was AC and CoS for the AotP.
Actually went on the retired list myself for a while then returned to the AotS until it was discontinued a while back.

Did you contact WDS support to see if there is any chance they would honor your old discs ?
They offered to send Serial Numbers for old HPS/JTS purchasers when they first took over JTS but it did expire.

No, I did not try that. I will see if it's still available and still buy some games deeper into the system. Thank you for the idea.

Congratulations on the retirement, sir! I, too, am no longer painfully (er, I mean, 'GAINFULLY'!) employed. :D

It sounds as if you're already giving serious consideration to Campaign: Corinth. I would support that decision. Several of the engagements are two-day battles, providing time for maneuver without being 'monster' games. And forces are large enough to put together a nice fight.

Once you get settled in, if you want to work out the cobwebs with a Corinth campaign, I'm your huckleberry. You choose the side, and send a telegram to my club address.
