I've been reading the "Withdrawing from the Field" post for days now and I see strong opinions on both sides. I have been gaming in one form or another for more than 30 years, so believe me when I tell you that this topic has been brought up before and there is really no solution that will satisfy both sides. I do however have an idea that may help make the scenarios more "realistic"...for want of a better term. It's fairly simple really... Do not show the causalty points until after the game has ended. Instead perhaps estimates could be posted. This seems more realistic to me. When I am in battle and facing an enemy unit 30 paces to my front, I know the unit's class but I do not know it's numbers...instead I am given an estimate. Why then would the CiC in a given battle know the total number of enemy causalities at any given time? We are not here to make History....We are refighting what has already taken place. Some of us want to change the outcome, others simply want to experience it. HPS and the CCC give us a chance to do either. I'm just glad to have these choices.
