Post subject:  Oh Cousin Jonothan.....

A newly graduated 1812 Canadian regular is looking to take to the fields of Upper Canada to defend his nation from American expansionism!!

I'm hoping to run through the scenarios in a "campaign" style from begining to end. So, I'm looking for a Yankee player who would take up the defense of Fort Mackinac (historical).

We can talk about the options. Please help me with my campaign and take up the defense of your fort!!

I play either 2-phase or 4-phase mode.

<font color=red>I guess I wasn't clear, you don't have to do the whole campaign with me, I'm signing up opponents as I make my way through. If you lose at one scenario you can see me down the road. If you have the honour to play a lop-sided scenario for the sake of history, I'll give you first crack at evening the score down the road.</font id=red>

Hi Rob,

This sounds like fun to me! Sign me up! I prefer all options except line movement restriction, and I prefer to use the automated defense fire. I await your reply.

Cheers,

Scott,
Thanks for the reply. I've since finished Mackinac and am currently embroiled at Detroit. The next "scene" is Queenston Heights. I can 'pencil you in' for that step of my campaign if you like.

Or, if you still want, we can fight Mackinac anyway outside my 'campaign', but it's rather lop-sided .

As to options, I'm not a fan of Rifle Effects (yeccch!), I'm getting used to auto-defense and rather like it. I prefer Rout limiting off as a realism option, but no matter. I can't remember all the others, but quality modifiers are OK, as are the regular 'BG' options.

So, what say you?

Queenston Heights it is then! We can leave the rifle effects off then(never played with them on yet, are they that bad???).

Traitor? Ah, I've looked in my crystal ball and I have seen the future of Canada...and it is 'Born Free, Taxed to Death!'<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> So, you'll excuse me if I take up arms with our cousins to the South!

Fire away when ready.

Scott, you made Cpl. pretty fast! <br>
Rob, I am really in doubt for whom I should keep the fingers crossed here ... my trainee or one of my most gallant opponents (actually he is only on the wrong side without knowing it). <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Well, good luck to both of you! <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Scott, well from what I've read and what other Brit officers have mentioned, it just seems the results are a little over the top. Affected Brit units can spend the entire rest of the game Disordered with no hope of recovery. It's a matter of some debate I guess.

I've sent on the game file. Look at the Options before you start to make sure they meet your approval.

Good luck and have fun!

Rob
