Attention, Attention, Messieurs et Madames (err that would be the Highlanders [8D]). Let it be know that His Most Royal Majesty Louis (insert appropriate roman numeral here)King of France is most pleased to announce that for good and loyal service to La Belle France, Denis Du Villaret, Caporal in Regiment du Bourgogne has been promoted to the rank of Sergent. Bartender, your best cask of Burgundy, if you please. The good sergent is buying a round for the house. Vive Le Roi! |

In fact, I believe you chaps now suffer the same problem, is it George II or George III you serve? Oh well, I suppose one stupid, fat and unlawful German King is pretty much the same as the next, eh? [8D] |

Well Dierk is right. The cost for a new uniform left my purse wide empty!![B)] However since the main concern of a French officer is galantry, I have ordered to convey to L'Estaminet everything left drinkable from the regimental cellar minus a box of Puligny-Montrachet already sent to Major General Natta's Headquarters and a box of Volnay-Santenots leaving now for Major General Walter in recognition of their splendid behaviour in front of my lines[;)]. For those who may have misunderstood my words I only celebrate Louis the XIVth Le Grand (1638-1715) because: 1) Louis the XVth (1710-1774) was a very weak character led by women (what a pity at that time when War is a matter of manliness !![:D]) 2)Louis the XVIth (1754-1791) lost his head somewhere in a basket[xx(]. Normally I would insist on rapiers so that I could snip the cheap plain copper buttons from your uniform, but yes in this case a tête à tête field affair would be in order Sir. But pray tell, isn't <i>good French troops</i> what you might call an oxymoron? And the licking you'll get this time will be Bartholemew licking the soles of your bare shackled feet as you lie in chains in the bowels of my prison scow. I shall certainly send my courier, but please give me a week or two to get my affairs in order. I have at least one game winding down, and I'd like to get it out of the way before I start on any more. While my schedule in the CCC isn't too bad, I am afraid I have far too many games going on in the NWC at the moment. I am thinking a short, shortish-medium game of FIW? Maybe about 20-30 turns? <b>But pray tell, isn't <i>good French troops </i>what you might call an oxymoron? </b> You think so? I suggest you ask your fellow English type, Monsieur le General Sands about how good the French troops can be...if he hasn't been shot to death at Crown Point by now... |

I heard the term fat unlawful German King being used [}:)] I just knew some one must be reffering to that distasteful Hanoverian upstart those poor English chaps seem to be calling king. As our English freinds like to say, "Good show ole chap" now that is for my long time adversary Philip Roubaud [;)][}:)][B)][:D][8D] I know what you mean about the wigged one [}:)] He has beaten me all over the place [B)] But it looks like a challange for sure. |

Monsire Philbert, The CROWN POINT affair is far from over. Highlanders are advancing and the Frasers will prevail and remove your right flank. The skirl of bagpipes will soon turn the weak French knees to water and with sporrans flapping and kilts tightly girthed, the assault will begin. |
