And of course John Tiller and HPS for the fine FIW game they put out. FIW as I am finding (and pretty much already knew) is mainly about fortifications. I had to bone up just a bit on the war to get back to knowing it and afterwards I felt that FIW was a gamble that paid off. Not only is FIW hands down the best game I have ever seen on the topic but its a great history lesson for any young person (or old) that doesnt know about the war. Doing this game instead of say "Colonial Wars" (British or French in the 19th century) was a gamble in my opinion. Lots of fort scenarios and alot of folks might find them boring but I dont. Although the engine doesnt exactly portray forts properly Al and Rich did their best at putting together a set of scenarios that gives us a run for the money (or canoes!). Thanks again guys. If I didnt get these games for free from John I would be buying this one - its one of my favorite periods of American/Canadian history. |
