Gentlemen, Please join me in a toast to Hopi Hamilton (pardon my Choctaw--I'm new at this [:)] !) His handling of the British in our Southern Campaign ended the campaign much sooner than either of us expected, as my poor, outnumbered patriots--knowing the woods much better than his redcoats--ran like the dickens [V]. The Major Victory of the British in the south has left the area undefended and assured British control for the foreseeable future. My American Colonial compatriots can read more details of the engagement in my battle report at the Fraunces Tavern. In the meantime, all present can join me for a drink as I salute my adversary. Oh, and I haven't learned my lesson yet--I'm off to take another crack at his redcoats in a Saratoga campaign.
