For the 3rd year in a row, the re-enactment of the crossing of the Delaware was cancelled due to high waters and high river currents. However all is not bad news. The re-enactor playing the role of Washington gets the job again next year, since the "rules of engagement" require him to get ferried across the the river until a replacement is named. So after 228 years the Hessians finally figured out how to win at Trenton - pray for rain before Christmas! |
