Post subject: | Victory conditions that don't make any sense |
Checking out some of the 'Victory Conditions' in the Colonial games I have noted some that just don't make any sense. A case in point would be the Guildford Courthouse scenario. This is a straight forward battle with General Cornwallis forces arranged in a single line moving forward against an Colonial force arranged in three consecutive lines. Cornwallis strategic objective is to drive the Colonial army from the field and hopefully inflict more casualties than he receives. Historically Cornwallis army is smaller than Greene's and he had a daunting task before him. In actual fact he did drive the Colonials from the field but received so much damage it in effect was a strategic loss for him. But all that has nothing to do with “The Battle of Guilford Courthouse†|
