Here's some inputs on the topic of musket firepower I found interesting in the following book: From the book, Firepower, Weapons Effectiveness on the Battlefield 1630-1850 by B.P. Hughes. Here’s some data and observations from the above book relative to musket firepower from a number of independent studies around 1800. From a study of firing accuracy at a 1.75m x 3.0m target: -at 75 meters – 60% -at 150 meters – 40% -at 225 meters – 25% -at 300 meters – 20% From a study of firing accuracy at a “line of cavalry†|
